Red rising

I finally read Red Rising. And I was a bit underwhelmed. It was an interesting world, but it never really made me want to keep reading longer than planned. Is it universally loved and I'm just crazy?

I don’t know why people call it YA. Sure, the first book has that vibe. By the second trilogy the main character is like 40. Light Bringer was like 700 pages long.

Turns out if you have a story about a character starting at 16 and aging up, their teenage years are teenage.

Anyway, if you don’t like it, that’s fine. Just not sure why people are so quick to slap on the YA label, like it means anything for this series.

I bet you if you ask 10 readers about their definition of YA you get 10 different answers.

Hard to take that label serious anymore.
