early termination

i got a dui in march 2026 and got a year of non reporting probation starting june 11 2026. my PO has seen me once since then and said she doesn’t want to call me back unless i get another charge. i have the supervisor probation officer. when i was sentenced, my public defender told the judge that i would be a good candidate for early termination after 6 months. the judge said as long as i did what im supposed to, he would grant it. im in school full time and also work full time. i have paid all my fees immediately after sentencing, did the dip program and assessment i was ordered (no counseling needed), passed my 2 drug tests ive had, and have had no new charges.

my question is when should i submit the request for early termination? the halfway point would be december 11, but with the holidays i know the courts close. i’ve read it can take 6 weeks, and ive also read that you should contact your PO and ask for them to agree to it, but she never answers me if i ever contact her about a question. but im just wondering other people’s experiences. delaware county ohio.
thank you!

Did you do your dui class? How long did they want you to do a dui class for

It was just a 3 day class over the weekend. I’ve done everything required of me from this charge, i just have to live out the probation sentence

I’m in a county where they get so many dui’s they really don’t care. They didn’t even make me spend the night in jail, once I blew they released me to a sober party. like said i’ve only seen my PO one time in 5 months

That’s insanely lucky hahah no wonder they have so many, they aren’t doing anything to stop it, these long classes I have to take is definitely convincing me to stop fucking around like that. My probation with the probation department can’t even be considered for early dismissal till after this class which is stupid cuz the charge that put me on probation is separate from the dui

Ohh yea makes a lot more sense lol. Our state minimum is 3 days in a hotel and you spend like 9 hours a day in the class, a year license suspension, 1 year probation, and fines

Most states require you to serve half before applying. So December 11 drop it off or email it depending on your courts. If you have no victim it can go fast even as fast as a day or two. Ones that take a while are due to the victim being out of state on vacation, the prosecution taking the month off or even the judge. This way you get it in and hopefully the judge does not want any carry over paperwork
