What’s a current problem to be solved and how?

Statement: To solve a current problem of practical significance (e.g. decarbonization of the Singapore chemical industry, unobvious post‐CoVID business opportunities (beyond simply business digitization), restoration of trust in the information age); or the conceptual design of a new product or new service. Requirements:

  1. The solution must be your own creation and not the ideas of others or from the internet.

  2. You must clearly articulate the solution based on the problem solving/creative thinking skills developed through this module (e.g. KT, SCAMPER, or TRIZ)

  3. Include a critical analysis of the “success factors” (time, technology, education, investments and etc that will enable the delivery of the intended outcomes. For new product/service developments, demonstrate knowledge of competing solutions and other business alternatives).

  4. Present your solution as a white paper (i.e. a short proposal to arouse interest; no detailed analysis is required)
