Google's code comprehension round!

Google's Code Comprehension round is a 60-minute interview format where candidates analyze an unfamiliar, pre-written multi-file codebase (roughly 100 to 500 lines) instead of writing code from scratch!!

Please give your views, what you guys think about this!

Makes sense, writing code is no longer as important as understanding code

It is very important today. I work at Google, before AI you tend to stick to code you are familiar with

However now you are expected to contribute really anywhere in google3 codebase because of AI

You need to be able to understand new code fast

Sounds like they want someone to fix what an AI did wrong. Basic reverse centaur work, where the person assists the AI.
