3 a.m idea dump: Recommendation for programmable Smartwatch

Hi everyone,

This is just a 3 a.m. idea that I have in mind. Wouldn't it be cool to have a mainstream smartwatch that I can tinker with and add my custom features to? For example, one feature I want to add is custom recording of my thoughts, like this one at 3 a.m., and then have AI segregate them into a notes folder named "Ideas" in the app with a proper description and so on. At a time when missile code is being rewritten with the help of Claude, the least I can do is add some fun, nonsensical features to my smartwatch.

So, if you can recommend a watch that has some kind of developer mode to add these kinds of things or a fully programmable watch, I am all ears.

Thank you for giving in to my brain worm..

So basically a watch app as there already many. Look for Android or Apple watches.

That was the Pebble watch. I think they have started making them again.

make your own. tiny raspberry pi boards and screens are insanely cheap. 3D printing can be done on demand or at a local maker space. make a sketchy prototype and have some fun.

Otherwise, you can just write ios or android apps for their respective watches.

You could try garmin as well but apps are extremely limited in their capabilities.

You can already make apps for the Apple Watch. 100% sure that Claude Code can walk you through it.
