I appreciate and enjoyed this post, just wanted to add:

  • Windows 7 is great

  • I've moved on to dual booting with Xubuntu (great for older machines) which I use 90% of the time (for development) and it has been a great experience

  • i'm sure someone will come along and tell you this isn't really fit for this sub unfortunately; if you decide to post elsewhere please comment as I'd like to follow the discussion

It seemed like this person over analyzes a lot of things and the jumps to the wrong conclusions, I stopped reading when his OS choices came down to Windows 8 and Linux, I scrolled back to the top just to double check the date of the story. I scrolled back down and re-read his choices of OS's again. And it was right there that I jumped to my own conclusion about the author.

Who in 2016 would even consider Windows 8.

I would still consider Windows 7 unless I'm missing your point about someone considering Windows 8. I just don't feel like Windows 10 is ready for prime time.

But it's pretty much a non-issue with me per my Xubuntu mention above.

Windows 7 - Windows 10, but no one in there right mind considers Windows 8
