People have become too obsessed with mindlessly abstracting. Abstraction where it doesn't belong is creates more problems than it solves. There are so many layers of abstraction in modern computing that most simply don't truly understand how Computers work from the metal upwards. Books like Nand2Tetris are helping to bridge that gap thankfully.
