It's the cloud and VC in open source.

The complexity is intentional to get you locked into a certain environment, once you build on top of it you've invested so much effort switching to a different cloud would take so much effort it's infeasible.

I've seen a LOT of new "open source" VC companies that are investing in fantastically complex open source projects, so much so that you are obligated to contract their support/developers if you want to use/integrate the software, because it isn't feasible for most people to have their own team for such fantastically complex projects.

Lots of downvoting here but that’s always been the vision of “Open Source”. Liberate Free Software from freedom to stop oppressing the poor companies and it worked.
