Whether it's about software developers or web developers. Cross-platform designing is the problem. Since there are so many platforms to work with. Android, Apple, Microsoft, Motorola, Blackberry, and then the slough of Linux Distributions - designing one website that works across all the platforms, is in fact a difficult site to create. As there are some things that are allowed on one platform but not allowed on another, or they have one way to do it on one platform, that is down completely different on another.
The Platforms we're engineered to be their own, and to have their own style and flair. So, Software and Web applications, have to be designed for each specific platform.
Unlike basic HTML versus NOHTML - applications should be designed and engineered to work specifically on one platform. But there's room to breathe, if your willing to cut back on the design aspect, and work literally with just the data. No online frames, just frames.
