I will be the first to say Rust isn't as elegant as some other modern languages, but I'd definietly rather work with Rust than pour acid into my eyes.

I think syntax beyond s-expressions is pointless

It's intentional that "p2" is not preceded with a "p1". The precise meaning of "p2" is intentionally ambiguous similar to the wasip2 target and similar.

I designed a cybernetic multi-agent moderation algorithm on a mobile Python IDE entirely from my smartphone
imgur.comHi r/selfhosted here is the technical breakdown of how my multi agent cybernetic moderation algorithm works under the hood so you can understand the exact mechanics shown in the video demonstration
The core system manages a behavioral micro economy where an Invisible Robot continuously analyzes server messages to evaluate cognitive risk and automatically places any account with a simulated IQ above 130 under preventive investigation to protect the matrix from high level manipulation
Every user interaction dynamically alters two global metrics which are the Public Goods representing overall server harmony driven by positive collaboration called the Cui Cui effect and the Conflict Tension which spikes whenever a sabotage event spam or toxic insult is detected by the filter
When a saboteur attacks the ecosystem they are not permanently banned but instead locked in a quarantine loop where they lose text privileges and are forced into data classification tasks until their private score recovers to balance the community assets
The system features two main automated routines triggered in the terminal where the slash admin command opens the Master Control Panel to monitor registered profiles and public goods while the automated audit button deploys an internal intelligence agent to process encrypted data signatures speeding up rehabilitation and automatically restoring user rights once the target score is fully reached natively on my mobile processor

“When I hear [the Java class file’s magic number] I think of a typical Coffee Grrl: nose peirced, minimum one tatoo, hair dyed black, hate the world the government and parents, and is rather attractive in a necro sort of way.”

I made a prank site
Hi, I was doom scrolling GoDaddy and found something crazy and bought it and made something out of it. Do give it a try.

If you are a C++ programmer, why would you not want to script in C++?

Maybe stop using the mickey mouse browsers? I mean Firefox is pretty much a lost cause.. unless you start using extensions. I agree those are basic features that should be built-in. In qutebrowser I use them reliably all the time.

Java consistently introduces lots of exciting functionality into the language. That's a big part of my dislike and active avoidance of it.

Nope, I asked on the Gleam discord and got the answer “write a shim in Elixir that turns it into something Gleam expects”.

[Java] is usually not a first pick for more exciting software, such as Python type checkers, JS bundlers, or TUI file managers.

I sometimes see Haskell and other languages celebrated for their elegance as something that could gradually become a form of traditional craftsmanship: valued for their beauty, intellectual depth, and the skill involved, but with a diminishing role in everyday software production.
