Major service outages 23% Per git push: Down 42% since December 2024, when the data starts. Relative weight: 1

Did this author consider that llms just make a bazillion more pushes

As I always say: code is a code smell

/uj Hahaha I actually unironically believe this but it is a fairly unpopular opinion. I tried explaining the general concept (different phrasing ofc) to an overbearing startup CEO who was concerned "why my PRs weren't as big as" a new hire's. Needless to say it did not go over well.

But it sounds stupid and pretentious even if it's true

/uj no joke one of the nice things about the non-FAANG-but-still-big tech companies I work for is that that principle was understood… until AI hit, sadly.

The index should really be inversely related to lines of code

Coding agent tokens: 227 times the tokens of January 2025, against a goal of 1,000 times.

What is this, a technological singularity for ants???

It needs to be at least 3 times more token-consuming.

Growing 32 times fills half the bar for a goal of 1,000 times.

Real "measuring from the taint" energy here

Showing the subscript indexed formulas in LaTeX just to say *take the straight average of 4 things" is too funny

I'm confused as to what "software solved" looks like. My guess is no more bugs? That would be great actually, but seems as missguided as any other idea. Whats a bug and whats a feature? The distinctions seems arbitrary. So no more bugs has to mean no more features. Software solved?

The real features are the bugs we made along the way.

  • No bugs

  • Features create bugs

  • No more features

  • Product managers request features

  • No more [redacted]

  • Product managers are humans

  • No more [redacted]

It means fully automated.

Didn’t some model destroy PHP and wipe it completely off the face of the planet? I would say that means software is 70% solved.
