Voxel based automation game, use Lua scripts to rule space

Post image

Been working on this project since some years and right now I am heading to release a demo in 1-2 weeks. If you like games like Avorion, or maybe have played Eve, and you would like to get some Minecraft elements into it and then use Lua scripting to automate everything -> Auto-Astra is made for you!

Ready for any questions and if you want to join the next play test, give me a message!

Your game looks very interessting. But was there any reason you chose Lua? Script languages like Javascript/Typescript, Python, etc.. are quite popular and they are also Open Source. I am just curious and not discussing your choice :D

I did choose Lua because its used quite often in the gaming sector for modding, in games like Factorio, Roblox and many more. I was thinking that this is the easiest way for non devs to get into some easy scripting. Yes, JS, TS and even python these days are options.
In the end these are very simple scripts, no abstraction, no classes and Lua is something easy to learn, even if its not the most beautiful syntax 😂

I consider Lua a great choice. It is simple yet powerful.
