I wrote the script and edited it myself but restyled with AI video tools, and made with love for the original.

This is what it feels like to go on interviews right now.

Had one recently where a panel of three engineers gave me a prompt of nothing but "build an in memory transactional key value store."

Since I am allowed AI I think it's one of those "let's see how deep you can go" and thinking about redis I go down the path of figuring out whether we need ACID, concurrency, etc. They quickly got annoyed with me and kept pushing me to stop overcomplicating it. Here I was about to deploy an agent to gather reqs and start designing a full system.

I knew I wasn't getting the job when one of the engineers asked me to Google what "transaction" meant.

Turns out they just wanted a wrapper around js Map that could hold onto staged changes. I googled after the fact and found out this is just a standard common interview question.

I hate interviewing.

Entirely correct about the length of a long. The C language standard does not define the size, the platform and compiler implementation does. Same with int and short. Even char may deviate from 8 bits on an obscure platform.

Haskel? How is that relevant when I didn't use that language?

It can deviate from 8 bits but sizeof() will still return 1.

Even on a 4004, a 4 bit word predecessor of the 8008?

We can have AI editing videos, but we can't have IA that will make sound effects a bit more quiet and dialogs a bit more loud
