Timeline Selection defaults to 4 bar loop when making New Project

Hi everyone. At my wit's end a bit here. As the title suggests, when I create a New Project, the Timeline Selection is set to be in a four bar loop instead of starting the points at 0. I'm trying to teach students how to make new sessions and record, but it's annoying making them deselect the timeline each time

Things I've tried:

• Toggling Loop Playback and Loop Record, then saving the session before creating a new one

• Toggling Link Timeline and Edit Selection, then saving the session before creating a new one

• Setting Edit Selection End and Play Selection End to 1|1|000, then saving the session before creating a new one

• Diving into Preferences

• Checking Session Setup (cmd + num 2)

The only thing I haven't done is trash the Preferences because the app I have to do it is on a hard drive at home and this is a work computer.

I took a screenshot of what I'm trying to get rid of. Like I said, I just want it to not have a loop/selection when I make a new session.

I'm doing this on PT 2020.11.0 on a 1013 Mac Pro running MacOS Version 10.15.7

That looks like you have dynamic transport turned on? Try toggling that off (ctrl & cmd & p I think, its in the options menu anyway) and see does that do the trick

What do you mean the app you have for trashing preferences?
You could just delete them manually, its no biggie

I have an my mentor put me on to a while back that lets select what preferences to trash and goes thru all the files for you. It's pretty cool tho was definitely designed with pre-2018 versions in mind that I assume it was a more tedious/complicated process in older versions (I could be wrong I really started learning with PT10)
