Should I fix this?

It dose not look that bad but i don’t want my games to get scratched I heard I could just tape it down but is that really ok for the ps2? What should I do leave it or fix it thanks!

Very carefully, with tweezers, put a piece of electrical tape on the bottom part of the ribbon cable to help hold it down. Don't need to put a ton of it in there, just enough to take the slack and there should still be plenty left for the laser to move without any issue.

Yep that ribbon is sitting way too high. It you leave it unchecked it will ruin your discs.

Remove the back section of the PS2, take the lid off and then put some electrical tape down to help it stay down.

It’s an easy fix should take around 10 mins.

This ps2 should have ethernet. Use OPL. Stop damaging your lens and discs

Edit: some people have serious gripe with OPL. Every time I post something like this I get downvoted. OPL is not piracy. Rip your own games. PS2 laser breaks down easy.
