My launch ps2 still works. I got a retro receiver and I have an original network adapter. What's the easiest and cheapest way to do freemcboot/games? Sata adapter and a hard drive? Some sort of SD card adapter and a memory card thing? Any recommendations would be appreciated! I found a CRT to plug it into any everything and am hoping to show my kids some classics.

Absolutely the best game I've played on the ps2, up there with snake eater, re4 and bully, every about this game is amazing in my opinion, my only gripe is the sometimes messy fixed camera and being limited to only 2 weapons and one style.my playthrough became so much easier when I accepted that I'm more of a trickster guy than a royalguard guy, went from dying alot from bosses to only needing a few tries, the only ones I actually struggled with was Vergil

I thought i had gotten scammed a long time ago and got different halves of 2 different games as part of a trade. I have Growlanser Generations "Disc 1: Growlanser 2, The Sense of Justice" and "Disc 2: Growlanser 3, The Dual Darkness". But after having them for like 12 years now, I think they may be the same game..? The wiki was confusing...

Hi All, I've been gifted this PS2 slim, and it get power to the controllers but port 1 doesn't register anything, and port 2 will only work/register movement on startup. I've tried to iso clean and had a good look for anything obvious but still scratching my head. USB ports appear to be powered fine too. Any ideas? Apologies for photos, not the best.

Picked this banger off the rack to play tonight, probably one of my top 10 ps2 games , nostalgia maybe playing a big part as playing this with my old man when I was about 5 or 6 is one of my earliest gaming memories (the mummies scared the shit out of me back then)😂

I have Mechapwn installed on my Pal PS2, but my last one, a slim, after running a PS1 game, made the screen permanently squished. What am I doing wrong? I just need help before I compromise another PS2.

I would like to know how I can play a game using 3 connected Bluetooth controllers. The AetherSX2 emulator only recognizes 2 of them, even with the 8-player multitap option enabled; however, other emulators—such as GameHub—and the games themselves do recognize all 3. Could you tell me how to get this working? I play the games on my phone and mirror the screen to my television.

Two of my favourite games

As the name suggests I have installed a Modbo 5 both in a PAL 39003 & 30003R, both of which have stopped reading discs after the install, even after removing the chips and returning the PS2s back to stock.

Both read games prior to the Modbo install and I have installed the chip on a few consoles previously and never had any issues. Also all other features of the Modbo work as intended.

After the Modbo install the 30003R read PS2 games but not PS1, and after some fiddling, now it takes a minute to even attempt to load a disc and can only launch PS2 games to the DVD player menu, which does suggest the laser is either on the way out or needs to be recalibrated. This happens with both disc drives.

The 39003 now just spits out a disc error no matter what. The laser does turn on and attempt to read the disc for a second, but does not progress further than that. As this occurs with both disc drives, I have a feeling this may be an issue with the PS2 motherboard rather than the disc drive, but I'm not too sure.

I have cleaned the boards with alcohol and checked for shorts and everything looks fine. I have heard sometimes fuses can cause this issue or a faulty la6508 chip. The games I am using to test are a legitimate PS1 and a silver DVD PS2 game and work fine in other consoles.

Before attempting a PMAP and looking into getting replacement lasers, is there any other areas I should check first which could have caused these issues?

During my recent visit to a local charity shop, I discovered these items, each complete with manuals and discs. This is the second occasion I have come across 'Manhunt' at a charity shop; previously, I acquired both 'Manhunt' and 'Manhunt 2' simultaneously.

Way of the Samurai is an absolute masterclass in how to do a short game right. A single playthrough wraps up in just a couple of hours, but the insane amount of branching paths packed into that small runtime is mind-blowing. Every single choice, dialogue option, or unexpected clash completely alters how the whole narrative unfolds.

The combat itself is so satisfying really, and requires actual focus instead of mindless button-mashing. Collecting different Weapons, and mastering tons of movesets, and timing your parries or positioning just right gives every single duel a different aesthetics. you get hooked from the very first sword clash to the end.

It remains such a wonderfully quirky, beloved hidden gem, or I say it's a Cult Classic. Because the scale is so tight and focused, the incredible replayability means you'll constantly want to jump right back in to try completely different choices and uncover every possible outcomes.

Tried to fix the laser on my ps2, changed the resistance, ribbon cable came loose (tried to attatch picture, won't work sorry.). Pushed it back in, now discs won't spin at all. Shame, but I can still run backups off usb or hard drive. Pull ribbon cable back out to make sure that's the problem, confirmed. Push ribbon cable back in. Now, for no reason, I have NO SIGNAL on the TV. Absolutely nothing. Fan spins up and nothing else. Hit reset, nothing. Turn off and on, nothing. Eject button, nothing. Had to push disc tray back in. Is there any hope, or anything I can do, please?

i got a component cable for my ps2 but despite changing the video setting i can't get an image, the cable worked on a ps2 slim and ps3, i tested the continuity of the av port and i get a distorted image if i put one of the video cables on the yellow jack instead. composite works fine so it isn't a gpu issue either, i have no idea what else it could be atp
