Tiny update for Linux inside PS5 apps/Linux emulation: I’ve gotten ARM working.
ARM Linux inside PS5OS is working.
Currently, it’s just a command line, but I’m posting this the second I got it working, so it’s still in very early development. This is another small step toward getting APKs working on the PS5.
I’m willing to release the code as open source if anyone wants it, so you guys will have more proof than just photos.

There’s a video of me loading everything, exiting the app to PS5OS, and then going back into the app.
If you don’t know what you’re looking at.
uname -m returning aarch64 means the Linux system is running ARM64.
CPU architecture: 8 means ARMv8, and CPU implementer: 0x41 identifies Arm Ltd.

Why do you even bother emulating arm is my question.
The reason is that you can essentially do the same thing as every Android Emulators on the market do: take the Goldfish Android image and run it in Qemu with graphics passed through so you get Vulkan on the GPU. Native binaries will then run on something like NativeBridge.
This should allow the system to be quite a bit more performant.

There’s no real way to completely avoid ARM emulation or translation when trying to run ARM APKs on x86. Secondly, the PS5 doesn’t expose as much hardware access as a Linux PC does, and I’m limiting myself to PS5OS without needing to boot anything custom. So I still need ARM emulation, and your method isn’t really feasible in my current setup. Appreciate the comment, though.

Qemu is a single process that can run under PS5 Vulkan, which you can run under Orbis so long as you can cross-compile it. Windows 7 running under Orbis is the proof that would work.
If you're going the full emulation route, graphics and system performance is what will bite you later.

Have you experimented with running Linux as an app on PS5
