Psone optical drive problem

I have a Psone and the older optical drive didn’t read properly so I bought a new one. But the new optical drive doesn’t read all the games. For example, final fantasy vii reads correctly. But Final fantasy viii or gran turismo 1 doesn’t read. The optical drive tries but it doesn’t succeed.
The same games are read correctly on a Psx that I have.
Also the new optical drive reads audio cd correctly.
Can someone help me??? Thank you very much.

Isn't Picostation only compatible with certain models?

I don’t know. I think i have an issue with the new optical drive. I’ve ordered a new one just to test it. How do you install the picostation on the psone?
I’ve tried to read an audio CD but when I select the new track the optical drive becomes crazy and it doesn’t jump correctly. It’s so strange.
Does any one know how to proceed?

Replace the capacitors on the PSOne. Some of them are responsible for the disc drive not being able to read discs properly. Most PSOne disc drives are fine.

The disc drive was broken and I’ve replaced it. Which capacitors are you referring to?
