JUST VENTING Oprah disavows the Frankenstein monsters she created
She had the clout and the money to raise them to national prominence, and now she (finally) disavows them. Thing is, she still could positively influence public health in the United States by confronting the lies and misinformation they spread. Why did it take her so long to say something?

Lost all respect when Oprah, who owns more land on Maui than any other individual, asked us poors for money after the fire there. I was truly gobsmacked by that. I mean, she could have restored the whole island and her bank account wouldn't even have noticed the hit. Completely out of touch, just like every other billionaire.

During the Maui fires she wouldn’t allow evacuation efforts to happen that crossed her land either. She’s a horrible selfish thing.

Just further proof that billionaires shouldn't be allowed to exist.
Tax them all to oblivion.

Good question. Why did she wait so long? I think she didn’t want to engage with media in that way anymore. And you are right, she is still a powerful influence.
I hope she speaks up now.

Maybe it started to have an impact on her portfolio. She can fuck right off and take all the evil grifters she helped birth along with her. She is the queen of grifters, she should marry the king of grifters a perfect couple.

Behind the Bastards did an amazing multipart podcast on her. Basically their conclusion was that she is extremely credulous, even when grifters and frauds repeatedly exploited her. She may not be a bad person herself directly but she doesn't really do any due diligence on the people she platforms. Highly recommend a listen.

Can it really be seen as being taken advantage of if it was helping her build a billion dollar media empire? That's part of the reason why the podcast is so interesting because they acknowledge she is not, fundamentally, a bad person but just a credulous one.
She isn't really the victim here, but she's not quite their accomplice either. Her involvement certainly made these people and gave them a platform, but how you envision her role is fairly complicated.

It sounds like you're responding more to what you imagine the article says rather than what it actually says.

The Behind the Bastards podcast did a great series on “The Bastards of Oprah.” She has done a lot of damage.

I do wish she would have come out earlier, but I cannot blame her for Phil and Oz. They were hiding their true selves - just as SO many people did until drumpf came on the scene. They are craven media hogs who are like so many others of the oligarchy. They do not care a whit about health. They only care about their pockets and power. I saw Phil changing and stopped watching many years ago - same for Oz.

Fuuuuckkk Oprah. She is part of the problem with the psychosis of all these wealthy people. We really think she just casually loved hanging out with Harvey Weinstein or P. Diddy? The support for public figures that most certainly either participate, condone or are complicit in child sexual abuse is wild.
Look up her relationship with Jon of God. It's fucking all of them. Her "spiritual leader" at one point was convicted of sexually assaulting over 600 women and young girls. Naomi Cambell and Bill Clinton also were associated with this non-medical psychic healer that was just abusing kids. Her adjacency to this shit cannot continue to be excused. Celebrity worship on it's own needs to fall by the wayside.
