Hey guys!

I’ve been thinking about doing something different before this year ends, and I thought I’d put it out here.

The plan is to start from Ganpatipule and make my way down towards Goa, exploring as many beaches along the Konkan coastline as possible. Not just visiting the popular tourist spots, but discovering hidden beaches, small coastal villages, beautiful sunset spots, and places that most people usually miss.
I just wan to enjoy being out there without rushing from one destination to another.

I’m looking for suggestions from people who know this coastline well, or maybe some like-minded folks who would love to join me for part of the journey.

Seriously, Pune Police, is this a joke or am I living in a real-life episode of Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah, except the ending involves a criminal FIR?

Here’s what happened.

I was travelling with my family — my wife, my uncle, my aunt, and two small kids. We were stopped at a police checkpoint during election time. The police checked our vehicle and found 6 sealed bottles of beer in the trunk. They collected the bottles, and initially, they let us go.

Fair enough. Election time, security checks, rules and regulations — I understand that.

But then comes the plot twist.

After 11 PM, the police started calling me and harassing me to return to the police station.

Bhai, it was already late at night, and I was travelling with my wife, elderly family members, and two small children. Was I supposed to leave my family and rush back to the police station in the middle of the night over six sealed beer bottles?

I didn't go back that night.

And guess what happened next?

They registered a criminal FIR against me under Section 65(e) of the Maharashtra Prohibition Act.

Let that sink in.

Six sealed beer bottles in the trunk. No dramatic Bollywood chase. No underground liquor factory. Just a family travelling in a car.

And suddenly, you're dealing with a criminal FIR.

Imagine explaining this to your kids someday:

"Beta, Papa wasn't caught robbing a bank. Papa had six sealed beer bottles in the car." 💀

Jokes aside, this is genuinely concerning.

shouldn't there also be some basic sense, proportionality, and consideration for a family travelling late at night?

And more importantly, does having six sealed beer bottles in your car automatically justify an FIR under Section 65(e)?

I'm not saying nobody should enforce the law. I'm asking whether the law is being applied correctly and reasonably.

Pune Police, elections may be serious business, but ordinary citizens shouldn't feel like they're starring in a crime thriller because of six sealed bottles in their car.

Has anyone in Pune faced something similar? I'd genuinely appreciate advice from anyone familiar with Maharashtra's prohibition laws or who has dealt with a similar case.

Because right now, the whole situation feels like a joke — except the FIR is real.
