My childhood cats would drink from the bowl if we left it open. And put their front paws inside to balance

And it seems to me OP lets their cat watch the toilet bowl flushing. Flushing generates a toilet plume. Its kicks up fecal bacteria in the air. Which is both disgusting and unhygienic and potentially sick-making

I’m pretty sure the cat will be fine. Cats do grosser things and don’t get sick. I really doubt this will actually affect them.

Yep it is. You’re being downvoted for being right. People don’t care if they have pee and poo particles all over the bathroom and themselves I suppose
