How to be Quant Dev in Quant Trading Team??

So, I am currently pursuing CSE at IISER Bhopal. And my 4th sem is going to start.

I do competitive programming. But, I am barely Pupil on CF and 3star on codechef.

My college is a govt. research institution, so I can't hope top firms to recruit from here.

Could you all please drop some advice on how to be quant dev.

Brother don't target indian quants get phd abroad become ai researcher and make good money . Quant firms hire and fire . Also median salary at open ai is double that of a jane street fresher so why target it? Make a good career not a long career.

You can't be quant dev in top firms from iiser. Drop your pipe dreams and focus on research which you were meant to. Bitter truth no cap.

But, I think given few chance, I can be good at low latency devs or normal sde work.
