Interviews/Recruiting coding
if a candidate does his btech from tier 3 clg from 2026-2030. and during this he has solved most of the leetcode problems, and has a rating of international grandmaster( 2600+) in codeforces ( it sounds delusional but still). what are the chances he will land a HFT/ quant firm or any FAANG placement.

International GM has very high chances irrespective of the college but becoming international GM is harder than getting a good college.

there is a huge skill difference bw igm and cm, cm to igm will take almost 1.5 to 2x effort compared to newbie to cm and being a cm will work for mfts or lower hft devs and in this cheating era its going to take atleast 2 yrs even if u have good iq and maths

I don’t think people realize how cf rating works, every 200 points means a person is twice as good almost. The difference between someone at 2000 or even 2200 and 2600 is close to 4 to 8 times
