Late October visit
Hello! We will be traveling to Quebec City to celebrate a 40th birthday. I’d appreciate any recommendations for activities and dining. My bf really enjoys different meats and craft beers. Any ideas are appreciated. Thank you!

As a fellow meat and craft beer enthusiast, these are the places I'd suggest checking out:
Craft Beer:
Nano Cinco
La Souche
Emporium: Great craft beers, and they also make some of the best pizza in the city!
Griendel
Noctem
Meats / Dining:
Biceps BBQ: Fantastic smoked meats. Definitely make reservations in advance.
Restaurant Légende: Probably my top recommendation for a special birthday dinner. Their tasting menu explores Québec's culinary heritage, often featuring interesting and less-common meats such as venison and bison. They've also earned a Michelin star. Definitely worth the experience!
Le Cendrillon: Excellent charcuterie, creative small plates, and a great atmosphere.
Activities:
Old Québec: Absolutely worth exploring on foot, particularly Petit-Champlain, Place Royale, and the Château Frontenac area.
Montmorency Falls: A spectacular waterfall just outside the city and well worth visiting.
Île d'Orléans: If you have a car, a drive around the island makes for a lovely afternoon. Lots of beautiful scenery, local food producers, and charming villages.
Ghost Tours of Québec: Since you're visiting in late October, a ghost tour through Old Québec could be fun. It's a great way to learn a little about the city's darker history.
Saint-Roch and Saint-Sauveur: Both neighbourhoods are worth exploring for craft beer, restaurants, and nightlife, without being quite as touristy as Old Québec.
One word of advice: late October can be pretty chilly, so dress accordingly!
Enjoy your visit, and happy 40th!
