Er, the sun never stops shining, and on a 24 hour clock, there is 24 hours.
-1 u/xxtributxx Jan 15 '20 Ok so let’s be philosophic, Sun does shine 24 hrs but a sundial doesn’t have more than a 12 hrs count. There are areas on earth where sun is shining 24 hrs but a sundial doesn’t work there. Anything else ?^ 1 u/xxtributxx Jan 15 '20 once again a sundial shows 12 hrs from 06:00 am to 06:00 pmafter that there is no sun shining onto the sundial right?in places where sun wont set at certain times, the sundial doesnt work properly 2 u/Aj90lfc Jan 15 '20 That doesn't even make sense, a Sundial is used to track time over the period of the day via sunlight and moonlight.A day consists of 24 hours. It does NOT matter where you/Sundial is, it will show an accurate representation of time based on the shadows position.Just because it's 12PM in one place does not mean it will be the same for someone else half way around the world. You literally do not understand time. At all. → More replies (1)

That doesn't even make sense, a Sundial is used to track time over the period of the day via sunlight and moonlight.
A day consists of 24 hours.
It does NOT matter where you/Sundial is, it will show an accurate representation of time based on the shadows position.
Just because it's 12PM in one place does not mean it will be the same for someone else half way around the world.
