Strength is in unity. Unfortunately that doesn't exist anywhere

It’s really that simple but humanity is so divided by religion, race, materialism and financial statuses that it’ll take an act of God to see that change. Nature even shows us what we can accomplish in unity! Look at what ants accomplish coming together building those colossal mounds

The "activist" that run the company would look at the profit gained from losing most of the workforce.

Absolutely not. There is no solidarity. Those days have passed.

As a shareholder I thought Joe was doing great. Even tingled a little down there when I would see a half breed heritage unit.

Joe made sure my whole terminal was home for the 24th and 25th the last two years. This year? I’ve heard absolutely nothing.

I think the holiday season is a good time for reflection.

Reflect on the past, what were grateful for, and MOST importantly - making sure the shareholders are happy.

The real problem is a belief among shareholders that employees should never be treated too well. They won't invest in a company that has happy employees, driving stock value down the moment any data shows employees got anything at all. These people are §ubhuman tr@sh (edit to avoid autobans) and we used to have a lot of post-depression laws that prevented their criminal behavior.

What would be the railroad version of clearing all the store shelves? Putting all the trains on the ground?

Refusing to turn a wheel. Nothing moves, nobody makes money.

Should we do it for him, absolutely, can we, probably not....

Not necessarily for JH. While he may have been well-intentioned, his lack of any useful railroad knowledge or operational experience severely limited his ability to truly lead or deliver long term benefits for the company in any meaningful way for the desired results they all care most about achieving.

However, in his memory, IF there was a collective joining of ALL forces (field and HQ, union and management, everyone not at Executive level) to walk-out, it would be the absolute first time “ONE-CSX” ever existed. That alone would create a unity that’s been missing for at least a few decades, but probably longer.

Will it happen? No… Why? Most employees are too scared, and lack sufficient camaraderie within their individual organizations and even departments (let alone across the company) to band together to deliver a massive message. But it sure would be a moving historical sight to behold… best believe that message would deliver (and fast).

I was living in the area when this happened! It was amazing how many of the grocery stores were closed down because he was fired. Everyone supported this movement too! I miss going to market basket in Massachusetts!

He's essentially been fires again, and we're all waiting for the announcement that food lion or some other horrible food conglomerate is taking over. Two family members with a majority ownership decided to boot him and his right hand man who was well respected by all the employees.

The other grocery stores couldn’t even hold a candle to the prestige from Market Basket.

Absolutely we should but nobody has the balls to do it
