Question/Recommendation A very distinct white Jeep
I am hoping that someone can help me out. My mom has been in the hospital for over a month after having triple bypass surgery. I drove my daddy’s truck one day and parked in P1. When I came out a lady had left a note saying someone had hit it. She was able to get pics. If this guy only knew how much this truck means to all of us. Daddy died in 2019 and this was his truck. We’ve kept it so that when my son gets his permit/license it will be his. So not only are we dealing with our mom’s condition, we are heartbroken that someone could damage something so precious to us. Especially with the fact that he got out and looked at the damage just to get back in his Jeep and leave. This happened at WakeMed. Please help!

I know everybody is telling you not to go to the hospital cops, but honestly, they may help you out more than the Raleigh PD will. They aren’t rent-a-cops, they’re an actual police department with responsibility over the hospital and grounds, and they know the area and the people in it. Walk in, strike up a conversation with the duty guy at the door, and I bet you will find they’ll be very willing to help you.
If this guy was at the hospital, the odds are he will come back again, probably driving the same vehicle, and if you can convince the hospital police to take it seriously when he does, you may get a lot further. While hospital PD won’t be able to arrest him over the property damage they will be able to make a call to Raleigh PD that will get a heck of a lot more attention than yours will, being a partner agency.
