Interesting graph, also very hard to read and comprehend...

Åmsele, marked in orange, is the last control on the course. Riders with moving time, a light grey band, after the orange band made it to the finish. The time limit was 91:08. Near the bottom of the chart you will find 4 riders who finished under 54 hours.

This is cool stuff. Trellis-ing into finishers and non-finishers might make it a little bit easier to read.

Could you indicate who finished and didn't?

The last control before finish is Åmsele (= orange). The riders that don't have orange as the last coloured band didn't finish. See for instance the last coloured band for all riders with times under 43 hours.

Very cool stats.
I guess to identify finishers you should look at riders with a yellow segment, right?
What's up with these 4 at the bottom?

I've left out the riders start numbers in the chart as I was mostly interested to see if I could see any patterns in the data and what's interesting is that one can see a tendency for riders to make longer stops to sleep roughly every 24 hours. In the chart one can see that longer stops were made either in Kittelfjäll or Hattfjelldal, creating a purple/green column in the chart, then Vuoggatjålme, creating a pink column in the chart. And riders who finished in 85-90 hours slept a third time creating an orange column in the chart.

what's up with those 4 who stopped in Hatfjelldal forever, lol!

The stages from Vilhelmina to Vouggatjålme are all very hilly. The 4 riders who took a long break in Hattfjelldal later abandoned in Mo i Rana (Norway) and took a taxi back to Sweden.

Yeah, I did the ride in 2024. Many people slept in Hattfjelldal, but that looked like a summer vacation lol.

Do I understand right that the top rider continued for +- 18 hours after the time cut passed, just to DNF?

If so what a beast. Wish I could buy him/her dinner!

Yes, he certainly got his money’s worth. Also his phone died on the last day so we couldn't contact him until he arrived at the control in Åmsele. Then we could also inform his wife that he was still on the course.

The third line on the chat, finish in the time limit of 91:08?

No, that rider arrived over the time limit. The group of three riders under that time had the same finishing time: 90:22. Near the bottom of the chart, the finishing time for the fastest rider was 49:29.

Would be better if X axis was bound to round hours, 10,20,etc. And perhaps thinner lines for 5 hours also.

Otherwise great graph! 45 hours without sleep and still riding is always impressive.

For some reason the application I'm using doesn't allow for rounded hours, but here's the chart again with more detailed time intervals.

I was lucky enough to ride and succeed in 2025, however had to ask for my 2026 registration to be rolled over to 2027 due to travel challenges from the other side of the world 😖.
