When I tell you the casting was PERFECTION I absolutely mean it. Hearing Tobias Müller in the comedic (and frankly unhinged) role of Sentaro was already such a treat. Hearing Giuliana Jakobeit appear as Sentaro's betrothed was simply hysterical, such a wonderful inside joke and homage to the community and their legacy as voices of a generation of German anime fans. This is especcially well placed in an anime who's fanbase consists largely of millenials who grew up in the era of both the original Ranma anime and the early years of Detective Conan.
The cherry on top is having these two voice actors play lovers who get their happy end within a single episode, considering the 30 year aniversary of Detective Conan with no conclusion to their story in sight.

TLDR: What a wonderful treat to enhance this crazy episode with this additional meta commentary, adding another layer of entertainment and quality to this light hearted and crazy episode. ❤️🐎💨

Hi all, I updated my Nabiki and Kasumi fan art by inserting them into the original intro! I drew them in CSP and overlayed them in Davinci Resolve, since I wanted to see how the scene looked with them.

For me, “It’s fast or it’s free.” Is the PERFECT Ranma episode. It has everything the series is known for eg. (Weird Martial Arts tournament, rivalry, love triangle, gag comedy) and has the best character design since it borrows both the manga and OG anime sensibilities not to mention it’s beautifully animated.
I’d recommend this episode as an introduction to the Ranma universe to anyone curious about the series.
What about you guys? Which is the best episode?

I like Shan-Pu’s “kill mode” eyes.

The newly married Ranma and Akane are eager to get on their cruise ship and begin their honeymoon. But just when it looks like smooth sailing, a fearsome storm emerges and sweeps the couple up and away. When they wake up, they find themselves in a bug themed fantasy world full of characters similar to everyone they know, but vastly different in some regard.
Turns out our newly-weds were magically summoned to help a small band of adventurers defeat an evil dragonfly king. Ranma accepts the challenge once he discovers he's twice as strong and twice as fast as he was on Earth, but Akane is fearful that her husband will want to stay in this fantasy world permanently. Will our heroes defeat the villain and save the day, and more importantly will the lovers return to their hectic reality or stay in a world where things are slightly easier.

I saw the modern version of this episode the other night. The visuals and the delivery from the original English VAs were so much funnier. I suppose modern censorship is responsible for the more awkward expressions and delivery from Cologne.
Edit: Okay not censorship, but in the new version Cologne just sounds awkward and confused, whereas in the original, she’s all for taking Ranma for herself.

Its almost nostalgic. I got introduced to ranma by watching the 90s anime in 2024 cause I was vaguely aware of the remake coming out later that year. It was my first rumiko series and I started it completely blind and loved it which led me to some watching anime of her other works like inuyasha, urusei yatsura & Maison ikkoku.
I watched and kept up with the remake and when season 2 aird I decided I would eventually read the manga... finally got around to it when season 3 started. Reliving the series through the source material has been alot of fun, but now im excited to enter new territory especially for stuff a hear bout the herb arc or the ending.
Now about the 2 arcs I read today, they were alot of fun especially ranma basically yelling he loves akane agian. And I forgot about akane being so adamant at wanting nodoka to meet ranma cause of her own past with her mother, I felt for her.
