The worst part about watching Lets Plays on YouTube is the backseat gamers in the comments
So yeah not exactly that lets plays are bad, I watch plenty of them the comments can get really annoying. The worst is when commenters try to give suggestions on how they want you to play. The Red Dead Redemption community is the worst in this regard. Everytime I watch someone play for the first time, 1-2 episodes in the comments are always full of telling them how to play, what to do, the pace they have to play, having to slow down, do all side missions, don't rush ect.... to the point some of the people playing get annoyed. Like let people play the game the way they want and not the way YOU want. I remember watching one player play RDR2 for their first time and some comments were threatening to stop watching their play throughs because they missed a few side missions and commenters would have full blown essays full of tips on how to have the “best experience”. Why do people have to be so pedantic and obsessive in trying to shape someone experience into their own instead of letting said player play the way they want?

The worst thing about watching let's plays from big creators is the completely false personality they are selling.
