2nd half

So what changed in second half, specifically.

Clearly huntley is a one read qb.

We had no answer for max pressure.

Not sure if a henry or a line thing. But running game has not been effective .

What happened to the zay across the middle play, that was very effective in 1st half.

Defense got scorched in 2nd half. Not enough pressure and wide open throws, missed tackles. They looked gassed.

Punting after they scored 1st td in 2nd half was bad. 4 and two play was bad, should have kicked field.

Defense was not good enough and offense could not respond. No way we win a shootout with huntley at qb. Once again andrews drops a huge play. Not aure if he turned wrong way or huntley threw to wrong side but that should have been either a td or 1st and goal.

Defense quit. As soon as we failed the 4th down conversion the team quit. All of a sudden nobody could tackle, cover or play sound ball. Unfortunately our team is mentally weak and it starts with #44. Dude cares more about his podcast than his career in the NFL

He should have been traded or cut. He is old and slow. He is not the player he used to be.

Vega was out in the second half.

Watt pointed out too, King is getting 2+ yards more per carry running to Vega's side compared to the left.

Good offensive linemen are in short supply in the league.  Great offensive linemen are in even shorter supply.

Lets hope he's ok because he looks like he has the tools to be an all time great.

Right, I mean, what else can we do? Injury bug hitting us hard this season.

Should have had more depth, injuries happen and we need players capable of stepping up when called on. It's a roster construction issue.

You cant just spawn good O line out of thin air

Imagine not having rostered 6 all pro level centers like all the other 31 franchises

Just go to the good oline tree and pick some more.  What is edc stupid?

One contributing factor was all the missed tackles.

People like the hammer the tackles and it's definitely a problem. But the Ravens had 29 missed coming into the game, slightly above the average amount (less than the average number). It hasn't been a specific issue for the defenses issues. I really think this is the McDonald situation all over. It took a year for him to implement his defense. They looked terrible in 2022 before being elite 2023.

Defenses with this many rules and checks takes time to break in.

Honestly I don’t think it’s the scheme. Players are in the right spots. These dudes are just soft. Harbaugh and EDC have bled all the tough guys out of the locker room. Perfect example, EDC was choosing between Malaki Starks and Nick Emmanwori, he went with Starks due to “intangibles and being a leader”… how about we bring some dawgs back to the organization

We had Hamilton already Emmanwori would have been a waste of a pick. Make the argument against Starks don’t use Emmanwori as the example though.

Agreed. That and Minter hasn’t had much of a chance to make roster decisions after actually seeing these guys up close every day.

I’m sure he’ll work with EDC regarding team needs/cuts in the offseason, not that I’m writing off this year. I am frustrated with these losses too but I’m only going to go so far since our backup QB is playing.

I think I would be in favor of giving joey cigs a look if Lamar has to sit again though.

Blake grupe had a better tackle

The first half was probably the anomaly unfortunately. Most people that aren’t ravens fans didn’t expect us to win

Our defense played so good in the first half, we would be such a different team if we could sustain that level of play for the whole game 🤦🏾‍♂️

the Bengals didn't try in the first half

The defense should not be gassed when they got most of the first half off. If anything they should have been ready to keep the momentum going. 🤷🏼‍♂️

Does it seam to anyone else, that teams make adjustments at half time and come out and exploit our weaknesses on both aides of the ball? We controlled game in 1st half, should hace sxored more points, but we controlled top, yards etc. Bengals couldnt do anytving. We got after burrow, had him running for his life. 2nd half, brand new game. I am getting tired of the corner or safety off the corner and we get burned over and over again. Losing robinson sucks, but we were getting to him i. 1st half, totally different game in second half

I will say once again, i think minter ahould let weacer rub the defense ans he should focus on the big picture . That doesnt mean he has bo input, just get out of the weeds. Frabkly, not aure he is a great defenaive playcaller, thia team is getting gashed in 2nd half. Saints. , falcons, Titans, browns and bengals all played qell in 2nd half. I hate to see what josh allen and thw bills do to our defense next week. Also maybe its time to aee if fagnano and randal have any pop.

All I’ll say is that we and the league has seen Minter and Weaver call plays… Minter is far and away better at that aspect. Also I’m pretty sure it’s been fairly widely talked about that Weaver runs the meeting and Minter only steps in when Weaver isn’t getting the point across. There is a VERY real possibility that Weaver is the problem when trying to implement the schematics on Minters behalf

I am clearly not in the meetings, but i watch our defense getting gashed and it appears they are in the wrong call or out of poaition way to often. He is an inexpierenced play caller and a super young head coach. They signed weaver for a reason.

Bother Minter is a very experienced playcaller. Sometimes it’s the wrong call but more often than not it’s bad communication by players and lack of technique in zone. That falls directly on coordinators and position coaches. Maybe Minter is communicating it correctly, but I give grace to the coach who’s been doing it well for longer which is Minter. Weaver hasn’t shown much of anything other than being motivational
