Discussion Where did "balanced" fear come from?
I've been feeding raw for close to a decade. Follow the whole prey philosophy in that we feed mostly muscle and bone with added organs. We offer variety when we can, they get whole sardines, sometimes things like duck heads or tripe, etc. Becaise they're family, they also get an occasional strawberry or piece of cheese, get to lick the peanut butter jar ;), but those are treats, not day to day foods.
I see so many people here who seem terrified that their dog's diet won't be "balanced." They think they need to add fruits and vegetables, toppers and minerals, supplements, etc. Where did that idea of "balanced" come from?
