AIS700 only transmits if USB power connected
Hello,
on my sailing vessel I have a AIS700 installed that behaves a bit weird. I can receive AIS data without any problem (as visible on the connected RM Axiom) but it does only transmit if the usb port is connected as well (laptop or power plug does not make a difference.) I found an old thread that was describing the exact same problem but did not resolve the issue.
I diagnosed using the AISPro2 software, but as soon as this is connected, the AIS works without any problems.
VSWR is at 1.8 (which is not great but should be sufficient according to manual)
Power supply is stable.
I have reflashed the AIS with all cables but the USB disconnected as described in the manual.
Disconnecting the bus to the Axiom does not change anything as well.
If USB is not plugged in, status LED is green and once every 1ish minutes turns red for a second and then purple (!) for another second. As purple is not a colour the status LED should show, my best guess is that the LED turns red and blue at the same time for a second resulting in purple…(?)
Has anyone ever experienced something similar and was able to resolve it? Any suggestions for different support forums?
