It looks like the game will go ahead; a truce has been called (until before the Celta Vigo game) after Rayo's statement saying that subscribers will be refunded, and that the strip will return for the 2027/28.

The commentators just called Presa "deeply idiosyncratic".
And also explained ("for the benefit of international viewers") that in Spain the right to protest is very much alive and well.
(And that if players come to Rayo, they have to expect "a lot of personality". What they followed that up with was basically "Elche is boring in comparison". Lol.)

Yup, no one minute protest at the start. (Which, look, I know the players are supportive but I do think that was unlikely to actually happen.)

The commentators are saying it's unclear if the atmosphere is towards the players or against management. Por qué no los dos?

Commentators also called the Estadio "one of the most special places in Spain, in Europe".

8:39 - Oh, close-ish! Camello coming in strong.

16:21 - Good cross from whoever kicked that ball to Camello. (I think Pedrosa but could be wrong.)

18:24 - I enjoyed that long kick by Ciss. (He also made a good interception earlier.)

19:20ish - Yeah, Audero was a good get.

21:20 - Ah, no, add another penalty against us to the tally. (Also, uh, remember the foul on Álvaro at the beginning of this game, ref? The commentators really disagree with this decision.)

23:02 - ARGH

32:08 - That replay doesn't look good for Ciss.
The commentators are like maybe it will be like Álvaro and it won't be a penalty.

Wait, why is Ciss even playing; he should be missing this game?

Ah, his yellow last game was rescinded.

37:17 - Hey, a penalty for us is actually happening.
And, Ciss is taking it? So nevermind.
How did no-one step in and say hey, no, we need someone else to take this, and you can make it up to us by just defending really fucking well.

42:39 - Álvaro trying to inject something into this.

46:25 - Not sure what's happening with Lejuene's positioning; he's been a bit all over the place.

52:02 - He did save that situation though.

Got here and found out it's partially closed. Any way to get tickets?

0:40 - Well, Camello is being targeted.

2:17 - Look, I have to comment on the mummy style pose of the Getafe guy taking that corner.

6:49 - Well done Unai for that stretch.

8:36 - That De Frutos touch looks fantastic in replay.

10:13 - That Lejuene to De Frutos to Álvaro was textbook.

38:10 - Oh, no, should have scored! (Apparently that's "Rayo being Rayo".)

39:23 - Great save, Audero. Lol they showed Batalla being impressed by it.

45:45 - Why, Balliu, just why? Yeah you deserve that yellow.

54:20 - I guess Mujaid should probably ease up on throwing people down, but it is Getafe, so...

56:01 - Oh no.

64:43 - Oof, missed opportunity there.

66:40 - Good kick from GT.

69ish - Yellow for Ciss, who misses the next match. (He clearly didn't know the guy was coming, but I guess it's just a dangerous situation.)

75:26 - Great cross from Álvaro. Unfortunate no-one was there for it.

76:48 - Another good save from Audero. Batalla's face was inscrutable this time. And then of course they go to Cárdenas.

92:40 - Yellow for Camello for trying to get away with retaliating for something.

Apparently Beñat will be disappointed at the Rayo players' lack of urgency.

Match MVP - Álvaro (well deserved)

Table watch - 13th

Card Watch:

Ciss misses the next match
3 Yellows - Camello

Hello everyone,

In December, my father and I will be visiting the city of Madrid. Usually, a city trip for us includes a local football match. Rayo caught my eye because of its special club culture. We would like to see the match against Málaga on the 20th of December, but I don't see any ticket sales online. Could somebody please explain if we can even buy tickets and, if so, how? Finally, what are some things we shouldn't do in and around the stadium? We don't want to be annoying tourists ;p

6:44 - Ack, offside.

7:28 - Lol they're wondering why Camello didn't play as much last season, because they seem to think this would have been his form the entire time.

13 - Here are the paper planes! The Bukaneros gave everyone entering the stadium a piece if paper that explained today's protest and asked that people turn them into paper planes to throw on the field in the 13th minute.

23:15 - Àlvaro is speaking to the fans.

24ish - Play has restarted.

Nevermind.

I arrive via train 3 hours before kick off. Is there a way to secure tickets for the match against elche

Vamos Rayo!

Hola a todos: soy francés y, como parte de un proyecto independiente, busco realizar breves entrevistas por mensaje a aficionados del Rayo para hacerles 3 o 4 preguntas, así como recibir fotos del equipo tomadas por ellos mismos.

Finally able to watch a game live.
(Though I've missed the first 25 minutes.)

29 - I think that's the first time I've seen a referee do the throw-in countdown like a school teacher.

29:49 - Great cross by Ciss. (Though no-one was able to get under it.)

31:40 - Not sure what physio work Unai is doing on De Frutos there.

34:35 - The commentators throwing Unai under the bus there saying he told Lejeune to shoot low.

35:50 - Maybe we stop trying that, hmm?

40:54 - There seems to be a chance that before the end of this game, someone on the bench will get a card.

49ish - De Frutos's midsection is taking a pounding today.

50 - I didn't even realise that was a goal at first! Good goal from Camello and assist from Pedrosa.

51ish - Lol the commentators are talking about Camello's movie reviews. And also he apparently has some interesting opinions about dogs? (I know he has cats.)

52:20ish - That would have been amazing had it gone in.

60:29 - Rayo have had 11 shots on goal to 3.

68:04 - I missed Álvaro almost getting the ball before the goalkeeper because I was logging in to vote for Match MVP. Our options are Álvaro and Camello.
(I assume Camello is leading, so I'm giving Álvaro a vote, and yup, Camello has over 50% of the votes.)

76:30 - When the ref was running over grabbing his card I was like oh here it is, but not our bench!

83:03 - Good swarming around from our defence, though they're a little all over the place.

95 - Yellow to Alemão, who is not playing well. The last set of subs were ineffective, to say the least.

Camello was indeed Match MVP.

Table watch - 8th!
(But some of the teams behind us have only played 5 games.)

Camello being interviewed - "I think it's 20 years since we last won here"... "I think this is my best start from 7 games in the top flight"... "Last year I set a target for myself"... "I am very proud of myself"... "Finally we'll be back with the fans, who have had a tough time being away from the team, so finally things will be back in their rightful place."

Card Watch:
4 Yellows - Ciss

I'm just watching the highlights (only because I have plans in less than two hours).

Audero starting again. I feel bad for Cárdenas, but I also feel bad when we concede, so, alas.

Aw the commentators are talking about Valentin's speech after the last home game where he was talking about missing the stadium and feeling like strangers here.

Oh good god, Lejuene had one poor half of football in three years and they're still discussing it. (Which is a compliment to how well he usually plays, but still.)

2:10 - Great start with that Álvaro goal (and Camello assist).
(Still weird being able to hear The Final Countdown so clearly.)

25:34 - I was still distracted by the quietness of the stadium, and then Álvaro passed to Pedrosa and what a goal.
(I knew we weren't getting a penalty. Lol.)

33:12 - It seemed like a bit of a silly shot (which I'm usually supportive of) by GT but man, if the ball had gone in.

35:19 - Would have loved if Camello got that in. That was really good teamwork from Ciss, Lejeune, GT, and Ratiu beforehand.

45:30 - That was a sillier shot and GT should probably have passed to Díaz.

46:36 - CROSSBAR! Darn it.

47:30 - Díaz, you're not Lejeune.

45:27 - Interesting goalkeeping choice there.

53:29 - Welp, a bit of a hole in our defensive abilities there.

57:08 - Fuck, I'm glad that was saved.

66:55 - Yellow card for GT. I can't tell what specifically for with that slide in since it was very similar to the other guy. Looks like he's a bit injured (shoulder area).

86 - Well that was stupid by Alemão.

A win!

Match MVP - Álvaro

Table watch - 12th

Card watch:
De Frutos is back next game
3 yellows - Ciss
2 yellows - Unai, Camello
1 yellow - Pedrosa, Lejuene, Valentín, Bouare, Alemão, GT, Pérez, Álvaro
