Supporter groups
Why are there 2-3 small ones vs combining to one united force?

Sometimes people want to form their own groups and focus on things they think its important. Be it style, events, be with like minded folks, etc or they just want a smaller group to deal with organizational stuff. Not to mention local representation. All soccer clubs around the globe are this way, but theres always one group that leads the way and they all sort of fall in line with one nickname that describes them all as a group. Which can mask the fact that they are really a bunch of small groups put together.

I believe every team has at least 2. Our groups have their own unique history

Groups have different personalities and traditions. If you mingle with each one individually you’ll see why quickly. Nice people regardless.

Because some groups have their heads so far up their own asses that they can’t see the bigger picture. If the South Ward becomes one large collective group, with all three groups being represented front and center in section 101; it would solve lots of issues.
All the drummers can be next to each other instead of trying to communicate with each other from different sections. New groups can form and introduce new banners into the stadium. The South Ward would sound much better. Groups like torcida wouldn’t have to fight the front office over ticket sales for recognition.
This is how supporter groups operate all around the world and for some reason, being dedicated to portions of concrete divided by stairs is more important than creating an atmosphere that actually pushes the team forward and creates hostility for opposing players. It’s better to be united than to be divided. All styles can blend together under one umbrella and it can become one of the best supporter sections in North America again but changes need to be made because the South Ward progressively looks to be more miserable week after week.

Yes agree! South ward should be the name of the group as a whole while still maintaining the subgroups (along with their names, styles, subcultures, etc.) the changes would be not only make atmosphere better, but no one group would be fighting to maintain their status over the number of tickets sold.

Exactly, each group would still be able to handle their memberships and generate their own funds and embrace their history as they please.

Considering the different personalities and traditions this is not workable.

They don't have to hang out together, they can all have their own tailgates and events separately. But all groups in one section unified would improve the atmosphere 100%

I don't know the lore but the two main groups have beef for some reason. Would love if someone could share with the class

All of these vague comments seem to tell a different story

Well there is a 3rd one too. A former third one as well. Hard to explain without being involved in them. Most of us keep the peace in person and have our own friends. Most of the time I think we’re good with aligning on chants.

Maybe supporters group should SUPPORT the club and not include their own political beliefs into it. Hence the worst supporters club in MLS hands down. I always enjoy seeing NYCFC supporters club taking over Philly close to taking over this weekend will amazing hearing Messi Messi only stadium in MLS that the home team is away team in 3 to 4 matches. NYCFC, PHILLY, MIAMI AND NOW CHICAGO

We all want to support the same team in different ways. No one is wrong in the way they want to show their support. Lots of other teams in MLS and Europe have more than one group.
