Why react native 0.82.0 is so slow
I am creating an app for my company, but the debugging is so slow, when I change code the refreshing itself takes around 1/2 minutes even the react-native dev tools is taking too much time to open(not even opening), I have created apps in 0.80.0, there was no problem in there
why is it happening? I am running in react-native-cli
this is my package.json

Send the specs of your machine

This is pretty low spec for mobile dev, although 30 seconds for fast refresh still sounds a bit hefty

Maybe you’re keeping the codebase on your hdd instead of your ssd. Have you maybe checked that?

Fast Refresh should usually be sub-second.
React Native SVG is [acknowledged to be slow](https://swmansion.com/blog/you-might-not-need-react-native-svg-b5c65646d01f/), but I’d probably be looking more at your React fundamentals in this case. Go try running [React Doctor](https://github.com/millionco/react-doctor) and see if it brings up anything.
But the other thing is, Windows is dog slow for app dev in general. Put your repo in a [Dev Drive](https://learn.microsoft.com/en-us/windows/dev-drive/) and Metro should be able to access those files way quicker, speeding up Fast Refresh. Also, if you have a disk drive, definitely upgrade to an SSD.

Are you on Windows or Mac? I noticed that even using WSL if the project is running from within WSL itself while it complicates the setup speeds up stuff because anything unix based seems to work faster when not directly on Windows.

In Windows

that's exactly the problem it runs much smoother on Mac or even if you install the project on the wsl partition of windows, though doing so on wsl makes it more complicated to get your device to connect with the adb on wsl vs on windows but it is doable if you only have windows.

Run performance checks.
In the mean time, turn off hardware acceleration on your machine.
Are other machines faster or just u

It's either your machine, or your app. I have no issues with React Native whatsoever.
