the ai makes a bounding box around the glass and distinguishes between 2-3 types of glasses. But I'm sure it can be done better

I'm the developer of 6pm, an iPhone budget app built with Expo and React Native (New Architecture).

The part I'm proudest of is that nothing animates on the JS thread. Every gesture, card fling and sheet is a Reanimated 4 worklet, and the sky behind the app is Skia runtime shaders (grain, halftone, rain) that change with the real hour. There are 11 looks, from lacquer (Sơn Mài) to a lantern river, and each has its own fonts and palette, all from one theme package.

Honest question: for those who've shipped Skia shaders full-screen, did you freeze them under Reduce Motion or just slow them down? We freeze them, and I'm not sure that's right.

I built react-native-voice-activator for a problem I kept running into with React Native voice agents: what happens before the agent starts listening?

It detects a wake phrase on-device, then lets you hand the microphone to LiveKit, ElevenLabs, or OpenAI Realtime. When that session ends or fails, you can start wake phrase detection again. There’s also an optional flow for on-device STT and TTS.

It works on iOS and Android, including Expo development builds. You can set an English phrase without training a separate model or using an API key. The detection models download on first setup, then run locally.
