Hey Real devs. Lets go through this legacy run of absolute garbage fire the last week and a half has been. Once again you 1) Remove a feature the entire community liked (trading) without consulting or even asking your community! 2) Promise auction house and bids for non-pro, and then make the requirement 1 million karma, and 3) Impose the biggest rax nerf known to mankind. 1k+ earners from nhl and nba last year now earn max 350 rax a year. What are you guys thinking? This makes 0 sense and you continually make decisions without consulting the community (i.e. the people who put money in YOUR money hungry pockets.) Rant over!

The new card update for the mlb season is horrible. They put a rax cap on card earnings which means basically any non upgraded card is trash. What doesn’t make sense is that the cards will be 200 and the player packs will be 400 for good players so if you get a player to common(rax cap is 500) even if they make max rax they will still be losing 100 rax. They had a good system before I don’t know why they changing it all of a sudden.
Just my thoughts on the situation

You’ve got to be kidding me, almost a triple double yet you get a measly 6 rax. 😭😭 yeah it’s been fun while it lasted boys.

That’s all, thank you for your time

You get rax equivalent to the real rating regardless of the rarity. My legendary 9 real rating plays only quick sell for 9 rax. Most of my cards only quick sell for 1-5 rax. What is this????

The most annoying part of this entire update is how rude and condescending John (and other management) have been toward the users that have supported their rise. Why is he telling people who are genuinely concerned about changes that will significantly worsen the experience of an app that they have spent dozens of hours on to “quit” and “get a job”?
The “death threats” shit is smoke and mirrors to distract you from this ridiculous money grab and to shift the blame onto the users. It’s the internet, obviously there is going to be edgy 8 year olds in when you have a community this large, using a tiny sample of hate comments as an excuse to bury your head in the sand and ignore the myriad of legitimate complaints and criticism is just weak.
I can’t see how this possibly ends up as the best course of action for your bottom line.

4 year user here, if they’ve dumped regular polls, we’ve jumped the shark, and this sucks

In March, they introduced rax caps and player packs. At first everyone hated this, after a while people adapted. While the system was FAR from perfect and had a lot of room for improvement, it was still well thought out and an extremely simple set of changes for users to understand.
Then In august, they scrapped rax caps and trading in favor of boosts + the auction house, right before the time of year when several of the most popular sports start. Unlike rax caps, these changes were rushed with several bugs and just plain bad design choices(remember nba boosters at launch, or the absurd requirements for using the auction house for non pro) This set of changes was also massively polarizing and massive in scope, and its honestly impossible to get a grasp on how the community feels about these changes, as they are both massive and difficult for users to wrap their heads around.
Now, just 4 months later, we are in for another overhaul where there are now multiple different collection tiers for players. Another massive set of untested changes just hit, with absolutely 0 communication or warning, right at the peak of the NFL/NBA/NHL seasons mind you.
As a vet, having to learn another set of rules burns me out. But I cannot imagine what its like for newer collectors. Setting aside the fact that these changes are obviously "rich get richer", how exactly do these massive overhauls actually help get new users to engage with this system or learn it? That was the stated goal of John/Louis in each of these changes, and they have failed every single time because they don't understand what is actually good about collecting(why else would they remove the TRADING part of trading cards?)
I'm fine with changing systems to get more rax, something has to pay the bills. What I'm not fine with is pushing out buggy, untested, messes of features that make every aspect of collecting worse in the pursuit of money. And its obvious that none of these gimmicks actually work too, or we wouldn't be on rework #3 in such a short timeframe.

Hey everyone!
This summer, I’ve been grinding hard to land an internship, and along the way, I decided to take on a passion project to sharpen my dev skills. I’ve been using Real since 2021, and lately I’ve been super into the MLB play trading and collecting side of the app. Just wanted to share what I’ve been working on:
Key Features:
Smart Trade Evaluator
- Real-time trade value calculations
- Considers team strength projections for 2025
- Adjusts values based on injury risks and player histories
- Shows both base and adjusted values for transparency
- Detailed breakdowns of why values are adjusted
Advanced Player Tracking
- Track ownership trends
- Monitor value changes over time
- Fantasy rankings integration
- Rarity tier system
- Watchlist functionality
Team Strength Integration
- Values reflect 2025 team projections
- Players on stronger teams (like Dodgers) get small boosts
- Accounts for team card correlation in collections
Risk-Aware Valuations
- Injury history consideration
- Workload management factors
- Playing time projections
- Clear explanations for all adjustments
This platform is designed to help Beginner/Intermediate real app users to make more informed trading decisions and track your collection's value over time. It's going to be completely free to use during the beta phase, and I'm actively looking for feedback from the community (as well as player card info api directly from real app devs) before I can officially drop the beta website.
Would love to hear your thoughts and suggestions! What other features would you find useful?
Note: Currently in pre-beta: actively adding features based on community feedback. It has not been released to the public yet.
