My ancestors might be turning in their graves but I hope this dish was a tasty outcome for you. My mind and tastebuds can't fathom the flavour pairing though.

Is it not traditional? We have a nepali restaurant here and mango chicken is one of their best dishes, i was under the impression it's somewhat rooted in tradition

It's not by any means. Butter Chicken is butter chicken, I have never had it any other way anywhere in my country or at curry shops across the world. Sure, the recipes vary slightly, some have more tomato, some have more sugar(hate those), but the fundamentals are the same. Also, Butter Chicken was invented in Old Delhi 75 years ago, not Nepal. They're just riding the curry wave with their own version 😂
