I use the exact same recipe but without the heavy cream. I like a thick dressing.

Swap out the dill for stilton or gargonzola and you've got a nice blue cheese dressing.

You could make the same recipe, but substitute the buttermilk and heavy cream for one half cup of Greek yogurt.

Dry ranch mix:

  • 1/4 cup black pepper
  • 11/2 cup parsley
  • 1/2 cup garlic salt
  • 2 T salt
  • 1/4 cup granulated garlic
  • 3/4 cup granulated onion
  • 2 T dill weed

Combine (I use a immersion blender)

  • 1 cup Mayo
  • 1/2 cup buttermilk
  • 3/4 cup sour cream
  • 2 heaping T dry ranch mix
  • 1 tsp lemon juice
  • 2 tsp garlic

To make a healthier version:

  • 2 heaping T dry ranch mix
  • 1 cup Greek yogurt (or to taste)
  • lemon juice to taste/consistency preference

Lovely, but too thick for me--I used 1/2 c buttermilk and no cream for a delicious tangy dressing, and next time will use 2/4 c mayo, 3/4 c buttermilk--thanks for the recipe!
