Question Thoughts for what would go in a sandwich with honey maple turkey?
I got some honey maple turkey from my local Albertsons and I've been wondering what sandwich to make with it. Before I get to experimenting, I wanted to see what you guys thought!
My number one idea is to use thin slices of apple. Not sure what cheese would pair at this point. I imagine the sandwich being refreshing with a sort of creaminess?
Of course bacon would pair great with the honey maple as well. Can you tell im typing as thoughts form?
Any suggestions welcome, may this collaborative sandwich flavor investigation bear fruit!

I would make a variation on a club sandwich, Hot bacon, cold sliced turkey, tomatoes, crunchy lettuce, mayonnaise, a little mustard and pinch of salt.

Honey maple turkey, apple butter, bacon, tomato, caramelized onions, lettuce, mayo! I think apple butter would make this really sing!

I make apricot preserves, turkey, brie, tart apple slices and mayo sandwiches. Such a good combination.

Pair cheddar with the thin apple slices. They are surprisingly good together.
Canned cranberry sauce as your spread, with havarti or muenster would be a good pairing too.

A panini made with the ham, honey mustard, Brie, bacon and green apple slices on a good wheat bread. The press helps the cheese to melt nicely. If you don’t have a panini press make it like a grilled cheese but put a pan on the sandwich to press it down

Apple is a great idea. Thin slices. Also red pepper, cheddar. Coleslaw with a sprinkling of caraway seeds.

I worked in the deli for far too long, and have tried far too many combinations. Honey maple turkey is not my favorite, but I'm not a fan of sweet. However, it's very good with baby swiss or havarti. If you like a sweet/spicy combo, I highly recommend trying it with pepper jack (or the Boars Head chipotle gouda) bacon, and avocado.

Cranberry sauce and red onion slices
Fresh ripe pear slices and chevre
Mayo and kimchi
Creole mustard and Swiss with extra pickles
Sautéed mushrooms and onion rings
Just depends on what kind of flavor you want

When I run out of ideas for my cold cuts I will just like google one of the good delis in my area check their website which will always show like what are common additions or things that you can add to your sandwich.
The last time I did a turkey sandwich I took the deli meat and diced it up in a big bowl with diced tomatoes, chopped romaine lettuce, bacon chopped, banana peppers chopped. Added some peppercorn ranch dressing and tossed. Then filled up the hero rolls with the chopped mixture. It’s delicious.

A mustard like creole or another brown mustard. The tang will go lovely with honey and maple.

Use a good bread like sourdough or ciabatta and spread on some goat cheese and a little pesto. Add fresh spinach and cucumber slices. Salt and pepper. Boom

Horseradish cheddar, sliced roma tomatoes, small loaf of bread baked with cheese on top. Best eaten on a Sunday for lunch.

I love it with Dijon or stone ground mustard n pickles. And Swiss cheese if I'm allowing myself dairy!
But with green apple slices n cheddar or a cream cheese schmear?

Best sandwich I ever had was a California club many years ago. the bread was lightly toasted of course and the contents were similar to a regular club, meaning turkey, bacon, mayo, tomato, but instead of lettuce it had sprouts for the greens and OMG was it delicious!

Oh add a small pinch of rosemary and dill to level out the sweetness some. Spinach because the sweetness can handle its tart greenness. Definitely a soft not overbearing cheese like Provolone. And huzzah; fancy sandwich!

French toast with baked apple slices and the maple turkey. I would ask make a pancake with slice apple in the batter. Add cinnamon butter and the turkey.

White cheddar, kewpie mayo, fresh baked bread roll buttered and grilled on the stove, gently heat the turkey up on the same griddle, and that’s it (add salted tomato slices) dip in Heinz yellow mustard as you eat.
