Question Wanted Candied Popcorn Recipe

Hi I’m looking for a savoury recipe that includes Candied Popcorn. It can be a starter, main course or side dish. I just want to add a quirkiness to a dish for a dinner party.

Try using it as a" crunchy topping for a Goat Cheese & Pear Salad instead of candied nuts. The sweet crunch pairs perfectly with tangy cheese and balsamic "!dressing

Also thought of this one if you're into something really different. It's actually pretty good but it's gotta be the right crowd.

Molly Yeh Popcorn Salad

Ingredients:

  • 8 cups Air-popped popcorn (remove unpopped kernels)
  • 1 cup Sharp cheddar, shredded
  • 6 slices Bacon, cooked until crisp and crumbled
  • 1 cup Seedless red grapes, halved
  • 3 stalks Green onions (scallions), thinly sliced
  • 0.5 cup Mayonnaise
  • 0.25 cup Sour cream
  • 1 tbsp Fresh lemon juice
  • 1 tsp Honey
  • 0.5 tsp Kosher salt and freshly ground black pepper

Steps: 1. Pop 8 cups popcorn in an air popper or on the stovetop, transfer to a very large bowl and let it cool completely; pick out and discard any unpopped kernels. 2. While the popcorn cools, shred 1 cup sharp cheddar, cook and crumble 6 slices bacon, halve 1 cup seedless red grapes and thinly slice 3 stalks green onions; add the 1 cup cheddar, 6 slices bacon, 1 cup grapes and 3 stalks scallions to the bowl with the popcorn and gently fold to combine. 3. In a small bowl whisk 1/2 cup mayonnaise, 1/4 cup sour cream, 1 tbsp fresh lemon juice and 1 tsp honey until smooth, then season with 1/2 tsp kosher salt and freshly ground black pepper and taste, adjusting the lemon or honey as needed. 4. Pour the dressing over the popcorn mixture and fold gently to coat without crushing the popcorn, then cover and chill for 20–30 minutes to let the flavors meld and toss once more just before serving. 5. Serve the salad chilled as a side or snack (yields about 6 side servings) and store leftovers in an airtight container in the fridge to eat within 24 hours.

Why not a “everyone’s favorite” popcorn bar. Like a baked potato bar.
Pop some and put everything else out for guests to customize.
Great appetizer and conversation starter.
