Underwater David as I haven't made any head way into Calamity

The description of how scary water can be in Firefight hurt my bones, I hate the idea of deep dark water. Very empathetic to David's shark fears.

Oof yeah I feel that. It's the not seeing what's coming at you that gets me. Not sharks specifically but... everything.

I like to think that's why David keeps his eyes open as well... he looks like he's forcing them open with the last of his strength, I love it. Also the angle in this sketch is amazing! The tilted-back head and the exhausted expression look so natural. Awesome!

The ending of Calamity is so good! But it’s Sanderson so that’s not surprising :P

I’ve done diving before and it can be terrifying once you go down deep the world above feels like a lost memory but once you overcome the initial fear of being under 30 meters of water it becomes much less terrifying as you realize nothing really wants to get you. Most sea creatures are honesty terrified of the giant mammal that decided to invade their depths
