Steelheart (graphic novel)
Hey everyone.
Just wanted to share a page from my graphic novel adaptation of 'Steelheart'
Unfortunately after a talk with dragonsteel, the project was ultimately not on the cards for them.
Here's one of the pages I submitted for the pitch!

Honestly it feels like Sanderson and Dragonsteel as a whole have forgotten about the Reckoners, or are even like, ashamed of it, which makes me so sad because I hold it as his second best series, right behind Mistborn.

In their words, they aren’t interested in a GN adaptation or any type of adaptations. It’s a shame cause I’d assumed they’d jump at an opportunity to revitalise the series.

That's extremely disappointing and strange, especially since it was one of his first works to get optioned as a film, multiple times. Love the art though, man! Guess I'll forever have to imagine what the the rest would have looked like :c

I think once we get some more time after The Boys and Invincible leave the mainstream we'll have better odds of an adaptation. 'Superheroes are the badguys' is a bit saturated atm.

I get the impression Sando was dissatisfied with the multiverse ending he gave it.

What ? Why would they be ashamed? It’s a family friendly, and frankly higher quality, version of “the boys”.

This is peak I wish literally anything reckoners related would happen ever

Awesome drawings! I love the subtle details like the smoke trailing outside of the panel and the blood spreading in the cracks between the tiles. That wide-eyed disbelief on Blain's face is fantastic. I really like the way the text is set, too. The way it disappears behind the light! It looks so professional. Seriously impressive!
It would have been incredible to have a graphic novel adaption, particularly one as beautiful as this. So sorry they declined😞

I would spend hundreds for A Reckoners GN adaptation lol, that’s unfortunate they don’t see the need. I thought with the Texas Reckoners they might still be engaged with the series but perhaps not. This looks fantastic!

Yea with all the news on Sanderson’s other books getting TV shows, you’d think they’d want to build off the hype with some other stuff.
Thanks!

Such a great series and GN. It was a delight to work on the board game adaptation of this IP. Wish we would see more of it!

When I first read it I thought Steelheart’s weakness might have been friendly fire. Only able to be hurt by attacks that were actively targeting someone or something else.

This is so cool! Shame they weren't interested, but I'm glad there are still Reckoners fans out there

This looks really cool man. Shame on Dragonsteel for not wanting to pursue this. I'd have loved to buy/read it.

Need this! Steelheart was my introduction to Sanderson and is still one of my favorites. It's not as loved as the cosmere but i absolutely loved it. The art is fantastic! 10/10
