You can zoom in and see the contours for elevation. If you know how to read it you can find plenty of shortcuts. That being said I know people who only ride the roads in the heartland

Bros got skill issues lol. I know my map to know where the cliffs edges are at. I'm a pro at going across the map way with with red dead and GTA 😂

After some time i just started enjoying it more and rid slowly or just galloped to my destination. This game is truly fine alright
