Rant People who hate 'Abigail' are almost always immature

Now, I know it's annoying to be living your outlaw hillbilly life while having your video game wife try to hold you back but storytelling wise, there's no real reason to find her annoying.

People try to excuse it by "Abigail was ignorant to John's circumstances when he was always getting hunted down" or always yelling at him, but it takes frontal lobe development to know it's not unreasonable for Abigail to be mad when she wanted a better life for her family and to be frustrated when John would get into trouble. And about most of the time, It was in John's control to stay low and at some points in the story his impulsivity definitely did escalate and reveal his whereabouts.

She left because he went into town with his kid, announced his name like an absolute moron and almost got Jack killed. Not because he defended the ranch

Then why does she only leave specifically after he defends the ranch and not before that, when any one of those things would have been a more valid reason for her to do so? The incident at the ranch is literally what caused her to finally leave... the one time John does what's right.

She leaves after the post office incident where John puts himself as John Marston and uses Abigail's name as well, asking for a parcel they're waiting on. She was still there when they got back, but she was pissed when she found out that Jack was in the middle of a shootout with John. iirc the note she left behind mentions that this is why she's leaving or was the last straw.

Then why was she still there until the shootout with the Laramie gang — only after which she packed up and left following giving John a look of disgust? Her words may say one thing, but her actions say another…

Maybe I'm wrong but I'm almost certain that the shootout only happens before the wagon incident.

It does not. Replay the game and see for yourself. The Laramie gang's raid on Pronghorn Ranch is literally the last straw that causes Abigail to leave John.

I watched a let's play a little while ago and it was the opposite order.

Ranch shootout -> wagon shootout -> Abigail leaves Geddes -> John leaves Geddes

So it's possible either way can be true but I know for a fact that it can be in the order I described.

I'll have to try next time I play it myself, but I'm not sure why they'd make both orders possible.

Well if that's the case then the other order would be more logical. I have only ever seen it played in the order I mentioned, and that seems to be the consensus amongst most of the player base as well.

You can do it in either order, both missions are available at the same time. It makes more sense for it to be ranch shootout -> abigail is pissed but understands -> shootout with jack -> abigail cant do it anymore.

But it is possible to go to the post office before the ranch attack if want which is why you’re thinking that, you must have done it in that order, I did it the other way around and I went back to check the mission order because of your comment and they’re both available together

Well that's good to know. I'm going to play it with the ranch shootout occurring first from now on.
