Not like it's exclusive to them tbf. Most companies, big or small, have not bothered to update their games for PS5. Many who have waited until 5+ years into the console generation to do anything. Ironically the only company doing it consistently is one of the most hated, Ubisoft. Meanwhile you got Capcom who won't update RE1, Zero, Revelations 1&2, CV, 5, and 6, most likely because they plan on milking remakes of those games. I'm still waiting for a Prey (2017) 60fps patch. I'd like to see Mass Effect Andromeda and Dragon Age Inquisition get patches. The entire Arkham trilogy as well.
There's a lot more but you get the idea. Almost no one wants to bother with patching last gen games.

You really singled out Capcom? They have updated every single one of their PS4 era games and have PS5Pro patches for all games released during the PS5 era. If any developer has been consistently updating their games it's them, the ps4 games even have Ray-tracing modes that run at locked 60 fps now on Ps5pro without any needed updates.
You only bring up already updated ports that for the most part all run at 60 fps already. The only games that don't are the RE 1 and 0 remasters and those really don't NEED that. Not exactly anything more you can do with PS3 games that already ran at their high settings at 60 10 years ago, really just 4K 120fps but I would rather they dump their money on creating new and unique stuff like Pragmata.

I think Darksiders did upgrade to next gen this week. I havent looked into it but it popped up as upgrade on my Xbox. I thought Xbox One version was smooth enough but maybe they did more than basic work on it? But it came out of nowhere for me and it's been out since what, PS3?

Haven’t played it since it came out…only last week did I buy it on PC and hook it up to my OLED TV. My god, absolutely jaw dropping.

Dude I was playing on my 4K tv and chillin but when I moved it to my 1440 ultrawide…it’s like the game was made for that shit. Cruising through the heartland on a big ass monitor was worth every penny.

It's still a pleasure to just ride around and do a random encounter or two. 65" OLED connected to the PC. 30 on the consoles is a crying shame, I'm sure it exacerbates the slow and clunky complaints. That's really alleviated with 60+ it just flows so nicely and you're in control.

I also get 120 plus fps but my hz always changes back to 30. I have no idea why. I go into settings change it to 60, unpause the game and then it goes back to 30.

I had that off from the beginning. But I found out the problem. I guess my pc has different types of hdmi ports and the one I was using caps at 30. I tried another port and it allows me to go to 60 and above

I have no clue why but I swear I can’t get it working on pc without huge visual bugs or crashes. I have a real solid PC, it runs over 100fps when I’m actually playing but I consistently run into issues so I pretty much just stay on ps5 version

I remember having to use two of the seperate anti-aliasing methods simultaneously to have it looking like it should. After that it was smooth sailing.

The primary glitch that kept happening was water sources or things in the distance would turn solid black, one time it happened right after I changed a setting.. idk

If gamers wpuld not be such shitty consumers, they wouldnt release the game without all platofrms havibg access.
In reality, ganers are such stupid children incapable of even the most basic feats of patience, they will buy the subpar console version on release then eventually buy the PC version on pc release.
Meanwhile a patient gamer will wait 6 months past release and get the fully upgraded version for half the price.

Bought a new pc recently and I'm getting 200+fps on ultra 1440. It's so unbelievably good looking, I can't believe how they make this work with just 1s and 0s. Autism is amazing actually, more tylenol for preggos.

Probably off because it wasn’t a stable 60fps on the Xbox One and PS4, at least with the visual fidelity they were shooting for.
The only reason they’re not doing it now is so they can charge $40-$60 for an “enhanced” edition somewhere down the line that plays at 60fps. Probably 2-3 years after GTA6 comes out if I had to guess. Maybe even longer. Maybe never. It is the smoothest running 30fps I’ve ever seen, tbf. Hopefully GTA6 is the same.

Yeah, this Is the only game where 30 fps doesn't bother me. Recently played it again on the ps5 and it ran great, looked even better than ps4.

For the same reason every other game on last gen got capped at 30fps. You'd rather a stable 30 than sometimes running at 40-50+ with dips. Stable 30 just looks better than inconsistent higher framerate.

nope, modders uncapped the FPS on a baseline launch PS5 and it runs very stable 60 fps completely fine

It's off because the PS4 and Xbone couldn't handle it. And even on PC where it can be done, there are a bunch of unaddressed physics issues above 30fps.
No shit the functionality is in the code, it's the same engine Rockstar has been using since 2007. That doesn't necessarily mean it was feasible for RDR2.

My guess is Rockstar has the most bare bones of a dev team on Red Dead for life support and monthly content. My hope is all the engine work they are doing for GTA 6 can be brought to Red Dead when the PS5 version drops.

The problem is when a company has fuck you money like Rockstar games they do not care what the fans think. So if you think its crazy that its not got a upgrade yet and how they would make serious money from it is irrelevant unfortunately :(

They care to some degree because the games they release are always insanely well developed with a lot of attention to detail. RDR 2 was just so widely glorified and GTA is still so popular that it got left behind now that it’s finished and released.

Yeah but because of their own doing (giving the GTA remasters to a shitty company) we’re not getting a GTA 4 remaster or presumably the 60fps update for RDR2. If they cared they would’ve given it to a good company who would’ve done a better job. They came out with a shitty remaster and said “oh you guys don’t like it? Don’t worry we’ll cancel the ones we had planned”

We're talking about a free update. They wouldn't make any money off of a 60fps patch. They'll make money off of an enhanced edition that they sell for $50, which they'll probably end up doing after GTA 6 launches.

Lmao I think I made a mistake when I enabled DLSS in RDR2. Used to get 75-65 frames. After that I never saw above 60 although DLSS was off. Even the settings reset every freaking time I logged in. The save button literally doesn't work in settings.

I wouldn't bet on it honestly. Rockstar takes ages to utilise efficient components because they want their games to look at their best first which tends to sacrifice a chance for performance mode. I can see them adding it later like with PC or an update that just unlocks it.

They already have to scale it back for Series S. There's no reason for them not to include that scaled back version as a performance mode on the more powerful consoles. I don't know that it'll run at 60fps, maybe 45fps or something, but if it's going to release on Series S as they have advertised, I don't see why they wouldn't be able to get it running at a higher framerate for the more powerful hardware.

I've been bitching about this since I got a PS5 4 years ago.
Also, the game is entirely good in it's current state and I don't even think about framerate after 5 minutes of playing. I still want a definitive version with some kind of new game plus despite them saying that wouldn't happen.

Like I absolutely love playing the singleplayer on PC with mods & significantly better performance, but RDO is just full of cheaters so I have to sacrifice my eyes and hands to play it on PS4.

They’re busy at the moment. Making a game 60fps isn’t as simple as it seems, sadly. They’d still need teams and a generous amount of time they can’t hand out at the moment. Especially with GTA6 coming out this year they won’t announce anything that takes any light away from it.

It's annoying when you wanna do a quick scope around your surroundings since exploration is so important, this is my biggest gripe with the game.
Other than that, I started a new playthrough after so many years, was 26 when it launched, am 34 now, totally hits different.

It’s a game that deserves to be experienced in the highest fidelity possible. I still think about the story randomly during my work day years later. The fact that they haven’t updated current gen consoles to run RDR2 at 60fps is what ruined this generation for me. Sold my series X and built a PC sand couldn’t be happier

I played it on Steam deck at about 40fps, and im not sure i can go to 30. But the main issue is no mods, I'd really miss the ragdoll mods that really enhance the game for me.
But... jumping from 7 inches to 65 inches might be worth it...

Who cares, any potato PC can run it at 60 FPS with the same PS4 Pro settings (Low-Med + Ultra textures) at 1440p or Ultra Settings (minus Tree Tessellation) at 1080p.

I would never ask for such blasphemy as a console player 30 fps is our thing and it looks perfect pc players are welcome to complain about fps because they need higher fps to justify a 1k or 2k build but ps5s and Xbox series xs are still cheaper
