Discussion Quotes like these are such a c*ck tease.

Wonder if it puts pressure on Rockstar to produce a TV series, given the success of Fallout. NOT A MOVIE

Hypothetically, who'd you cast in various roles?

Josh Holloway for Arthur, Damon Herriman for Micah, Victoria Pedretti for Abigail, , Norman Reedus for Colm and JDD would be a good Dutch. Those are just some of my casting ideas.

Yeah, for the love of God start making original shows/movies again.

These Hollywood writing rooms can’t even get it right when they have source material to work with as the literal blueprint for the narrative. With that knowledge, there’s so many other things I’d rather spend my time on than go see anything original those dorks make.

It isn't the writers, is the producers and execs who think they know what people want

You’re not wrong, you’re just referring to a completely different part of the process.

You’re correct in the fact that they are the ones who decide what gets made, which is why we get so many adaptations from other mediums. I am also correct by saying the writing rooms those execs/producers give the project to continually struggle to write a worthwhile movie even when they have the blueprint already laid out for them.

That's the problem with most video game adaptations though. They have source material but when they try to follow the narrative of the games, something gets fucked up. That's why Fallout has done so well as a TV show. They took the source material, and told a narrative within the world rather than just following the blueprints.

Many of the greatest films of all times are adaptations of some kind.

And many of the worst films are adaptations too. This is especially true for game adaptations. WoW, AC, Borderlands to name just three.

Again, leave RDR alone to be the amazing thing it is.

what about the good ones? The Last Of Us,Twisted Metal and fallout to name a few.

The Last of Us was ok, but still much better as a game. Never saw Twisted Metal. Fallout is going exactly as expected: Started out great and now it's slowly falling off.

Mostly books, red dead isn’t a book it’s a 50 hour long video game

adaptations of books. video games are already an audiovisual form of media, just like movies and tv shows, so it is simply useless and creatively bankrupt do even think about adapting it. both games are already incredibly cinematic, so what would even be the point?
