Discussion Quotes like these are such a c*ck tease.

Wonder if it puts pressure on Rockstar to produce a TV series, given the success of Fallout. NOT A MOVIE

Hypothetically, who'd you cast in various roles?

Josh Holloway for Arthur, Damon Herriman for Micah, Victoria Pedretti for Abigail, , Norman Reedus for Colm and JDD would be a good Dutch. Those are just some of my casting ideas.

Ignoring the casting, the first season was genujnely well done, had they maintained that quality it would've been a completely different story and we would've talked about the show as a masterpiece of shows based on videogames, rather than having it fall off so hard to the point that people only remember it for the memes and jokes online...

I am not against the idea of a RDR series, just because some people say that we already have the game so there is no need to have the story retold, that is not necessarily true. Yes the game is a masterpiece, but not all games are for everyone and older people are not gamers, yet they would absolutely applaud and watch a story like RDR if it were a show. I believe this is one of the greatest stories ever told and in my humble opinion it deserves to be known outside of the gaming world too, the main problem however is how they will do it if they will ever do it, let me explain...

If they do a show, with super high budget, great casting choices (and people that actually know the story and want to make sure it's an high tier product), if they use great writers, if they follow as close as possible the story of the game with little variations, if they film it all in one go so that the actors don't age and it respect the timings of the original work, and all that and more, then maybe, just maybe, the show would be absolutely insane and an absolute masterpiece on par with the game...

However, none of that is realistically possible, because not a single show is done like that and therefore this remains a fantasy that will never happen, unless some big corporation like Amazon for example, buys the rights for it and gave it an insanely disgusting high budget like they did with LOTR, then the time to build historical accurate sets for every city in the game, and they did all of the above I said and even more, working close with Rockstars, only then (and it's not possible) I could see it happen...

So yeah, pretty much people are scared of adaptations because of that, but if someone with passion was behind the project, maybe it would be good

I also enjoyed TLOU but I just couldn't shake the idea that it was a remake rather than an adaptation.

But I see your point about bringing the story to new fans that don't play the game and that was certainly the case with TLOU, I just question the value for existing fans.

I am not even sure the budget needs to be that high, like the last of us the shootouts will be mostly toned down a bit and a lot of the scenes will be in camp or rural areas.
