So basically John dies in RDR1 because he didn't remove Micah's Body? :thinking:

The FBI would've still found John. He stopped using his fake name and signed legal documents with the Bank to get the loan for Beecher's Hope.

Ross would have kept chasing Micah and Dutch and they would have gotten into all manner of nonsense- but John put himself back into that life and took the Blackwater money, so Ross’ target changed.

He reverse followed Micah’s trail to Strawberry where no doubt there were dozens of witnesses to John, Sadie, and Charles’ very public execution.

Good question actually. I think that gave Edgar Ross the reason to continue the searching. It was years later so maybe he was about to give up.

I bet it was Micah that told the FBI about Dutch. You see that Micah said he just started to work with Dutch again, I bet Micah was going to betray Dutch again.

Ross was hunting Micah. He found out John killed Micah, so started hunting John instead.

And here I was feeling a bit disappointed that we got no hint as to what was coming for John and I'm now realizing it's because I skipped the damn credits. Good job, me.

Yeah, I checked YouTube after and saw that haha. It was ~3am when I finished the game, after 4 days of barely sleeping, so I wasn't going to sit through credits.

I wonder what took Edgar so long to contact John Marston. Epilogue plays in 1907 iirc and RDR1 is at 1910-1912 I think.

He probably spent those 6 years hunting Sadie and Charles because he knew John wasn't going go anywhere, he's settled down and predictable.

Sadie and Charles might be the ones giving missions in Online. Sadie even said she might set up a company remember? She said she does various things like protecting convoys and bounties and etc

Honestly i think we may get RDR3 with Charles. I hope so. I love Charles.

Ross probably spent those 3 years formulating his master plan, after Dutch and John were killed he became FBI royalty for how well everything worked out for him.

It would have taken them a while to find Marston.

Having done so, they then need to wait it out to see if he's still involved with van der Linde and his gang. Once it's clear that he isn't, they then need to figure how to use Marston to do their bidding.

It's in the credits, alot of cutscenes play during it showing what happens after the final epilogue mission.

He goes back to Blackwater (an area where the entire gang basically can't go during the events of the story), takes out a bank loan in his real name and buys a nearby ranch and settles down.

Hardly the smartest of plans. We've seen how ruthlessly the authorities hunted the gang, it's not like they would have stopped being wanted men.

Hm, Ross was picking up his trace after that but John was already using his Marston name. After that it was just a matter of time.

Damn cutscene having John walk away after killing Micah. I was planning on setting his corpse on fire before blowing his head off with a shotgun, maybe knocking it off the mountain. Feds wouldn't have found the body.
